Cable Assembly Firm Chooses Redmond Site
REDMOND, Ore. -- LMH Industries has leased space for a new cable assembly manufacturing facility in southwest Redmond, with plans to hire more than 40 people within a year, city and company officials said Tuesday.Throughout the next few months the company, which planned to begin production Tuesday, will be making a number of building improvements to accommodate manufacturing equipment in the 17,000 square foot building off SW Badger Avenue.LMH Industries plans to add 15 skilled workers to the Redmond area initially, with the intent to fill over 40 positions by the beginning of the second quarter 2012.
Immediate hiring is focused on filling cable assembly operators who solder and crimp small wire gauge as well as terminate connectors to PC boards. LMH will manufacture custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses geared toward both the military and medical industries.LMH will employ IPC 620A certified termination technicians to manufacture a range of products from assemblies, which are rugged enough for the military, to assemblies having the dexterity needed for the medical room.LMH serves not the end consumer, but works with a number of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for the parts they need.“We’re pleased LMH selected Redmond over other areas,” said Jon Stark, manager of Redmond Economic Development, Inc.
